October's colorway is inspired by Prince Mikhail of Chernigov, a 13th-century Rus’ noble remembered as a martyr. Summoned before the Mongol khan, Mikhail was commanded to perform pagan rituals as a sign of submission. He refused, holding fast to his faith, and was executed alongside his loyal boyar, Theodore.
This dramatic skein captures that powerful palette: a palindrome style skein with a deep, unyielding black base for his tunic, ignited by flames of orange and glowing yellow for the rich drapery and courtly brilliance of the icon. The colorway resonates beautifully with October’s season of All Saints and All Souls, where firelight and memory hold back the encroaching dark.
The skein is 100% merino DK (210m/100g).
