FAQ
A yarn base refers to the type of fiber, weight, and ply (e.g., Merino, DK, 4 ply) without any color.
Yes, our yarn is ethically sourced. We use natural fibers that are environmentally friendly, renewable, carbon-neutral, and biodegradable. Our fibers are sourced from South America through a non-profit organization that employs, trains, and equips women from rural communities in Uruguay, allowing them to work within their communities and stay close to their families. Additionally, our wool is mulesing-free.
Our skeins are shipped using minimal packaging. A small card label is used to wrap the skeins to identify the base/colorway, and shipping envelopes are plastic to protect the contents in transit. All card and paper in our shipments are fully recyclable, and plastic shipping bags can now be recycled at most recycling centers. Orders may also ship using an organza bag to keep your order together, which can be reused for various purposes.
Yes, it's normal for skeins to look slightly different from each other. All our yarns are hand-dyed, and while we strive to make the skeins as uniform as possible, there will always be some slight variation. For this reason, we strongly recommend purchasing enough skeins to complete your project in the same order, as they will be dyed at the same time.
Yes, I custom dye specific yarn colorways and accept custom orders for larger quantities. Minimum order is 4 skeins.
Yes, you can commission custom-made crochet items. I can create items like shawls, scarves, fingerless gloves, or hats in my available colorways and some special gradient colorways. I generally work from three specific patterns that you can choose from. If there are many orders, your order may take up to a month to be completed, depending on where you are in the line-up. Please contact me for more information. Custom orders must be requested and approved before they will be undertaken and require full payment before starting. A limited number of orders may be completed per calendar month, but this is subject to change without notice. If for any reason your project cannot be completed, you will be refunded in full.
